WHO ARE WE
WHAT WE BELIEVE
WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?
First of all we believe that each of us has been called to grow in giving, service, and love; to ourselves, to one another, and to our community.
BEING FOURSQUARE
We are also part of the Foursquare family and so we adhere to those fundamental beliefs. The Foursquare symbols that we have at the bottom of our logo have a meaning too:
- The Cross represents Jesus the Savior, and memorializes Jesus Christ's singular sacrifice for sin forever.
- The Dove represents Jesus the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, which is based on His own baptism in Mark 1:10-11.
- The Cup represents Jesus the Healer as a symbol of divine healing because of the command in James 5:14-15 that the elders be called to anoint with oil and pray the prayer of faith for any sick believers.
- The Crown represents Jesus the Soon-Coming King, symbolizing that He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and He is coming again for His church.
CHURCH GOVERNANCE
Being Foursquare means that our church is expected to govern itself entirely (a good explanation of this here). Therefore, we are led by our Senior Pastor, Estevan "Stev" Trujillo; we also have other pastors who help him to "shepherd the flock". We believe that the Lord has chosen these pastors to teach and guide us through a lifetime of growth.
We also have a Council which is chaired by the Senior Pastor, though he is not a voting member. This Council consists of members of the body who have been elected by the body to guard the church. This means that, though the Pastor teaches and guides as he is led by God, it is the body who ultimately allows the use of all funds and property of our church.
